The sons of Israel, under the leadership of godly Joshua, crossed over into the promised land.  The first city that stood in their way was Jericho.  It was shut tight against the sons of Israel.  The LORD gave the city into the hands of the sons of Israel.

The LORD’S instructions: how strange, the sons of Israel were to march once around Jericho’s walls every day for six days without a sound.  On the seventh day, seven priests carried seven trumpets of ram’s horns, blowing them the whole time as they marched, then they were to give a long blast and all the people marching would give a great shout, the walls of Jericho would fall down flat!  The people will go straight into the city, every man go straight ahead.  Joshua 6:1-5

Would you do something so unusual?  God’s ways are unlimited and He does things no one else can do.  He used the people for six days, they did their part and then the seventh day, they did their part again.  And the walls fell flat, just as God said they would.  In order for those walls to fall flat the people had to yield to God and be disciplined day by day.

When we do what God says, we win!  We are successful.  Living disciplined lives is hard.  When we live disciplined lives according to God’s words we will be trained and enjoy the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

God’s Word ~ Alive!
Romans 6:17
“But thanks be to God
that though you were slaves to sin,
you became obedient from the heart to that
form of teaching to which you were committed,
and having been freed from sin,
you became slaves of righteousness.”

Yielding to God is to be obedient to do things His way.
