God built celebrations of rest into the Hebrew calendar year.
First there was the weekly rest – on the Sabbath.  Today, as believers in Jesus Christ we celebrate rest on Sundays… on Sunday – Jesus Christ was resurrected to life from the grave.  John 20:1-9

Then God provided rest throughout the Hebrew year with celebrations.  The first one was Passover.  It was celebrated one day and followed by seven days for the Feast of Unleavened Bread.  Leviticus 23:1-8
The Feast of Firstfruits of the harvest.  Leviticus 23:9-14
Pentecost or the Feast of Weeks.  Leviticus 23:15-21
The Feast of Trumpets.  Leviticus 23:23-25
The Day of Atonement – a day to humble yourselves and present an offering by fire to the LORD.  Leviticus 23:26-32
The Feast of Booths (or Tabernacles).  Leviticus 23:33-44
These Feasts were to be accompanied by specific sacrifices.

But the Feasts were designed to give rest from the usual routines of life.
We need to rest – mentally and physically.  Today, we live in a world of modern conveniences yet we frantically rush from one errand to another, seven days a week.

God’s Word ~ Alive!
Leviticus 23:3
“For six days work may be done,
but on the seventh day there is a
sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation.
You shall not do any work;
it is a sabbath to the LORD
in all your dwellings.”

How do you spend your Sundays?
God loves you, He cares about your health!
We need to rest!
