One the first things Moses was to do in the wilderness, consecrate, or sanctify the priests, their clothing and their responsibilities.  To consecrate is to sanctify and to sanctify is to be set apart as holy to the LORD.

  Consecration is important to the LORD.  Our attention is to be on Him, our obedience is to be to Him.  Where is your attention, follower of Christ?  Is it on a specific individual, such as a pastor or priest or a movie star?  Do you idolize anyone?  Is your attention on yourself?  Or is it focused on the Lord Jesus Christ?

  Moses, in that wilderness, received instructions from the LORD how to consecrate the priests, their garments and their responsibilities.  Exodus 29:1-46

  Even the ceremonial sacrifices were to be consecrated to the LORD.

Exodus 29:44-45
“I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar,
I will also consecrate Aaron and his sons
to minister as priest to Me.
I will dwell among the sons of Israel and will be their God.
They shall know that I am the LORD their God who brought them
out of the land of Egypt,
that I might dwell among them;
I am the LORD their God.”
