Moses was given instructions for the high priest’s garments  to wear when he performed his duties as priest.  All priests were to wear special garments made specifically from God’s pattern given to Moses.  They would be holy garments for glory and beauty, made for Aaron and his sons to serve as priests, made by special people given god-given skill to make the garments.  These garments would be consecrated to service to God. Exodus 28:1-3

  The high priest’s garments would be more spectacular than the other priests’ garments.  He would wear an ephod, a breastpiece, a robe and a tunic.  All the priests would wear a turban and a sash.   The materials which were to  be used would be of blue, purple and scarlet made from fine linen.

   The names of the twelve tribes of Israel would be worn by the high priest, six names would be engraved on an onyx stone on his right shoulder and the other six names would be engraved on an onyx stone on his left shoulder.  The breastpiece would have twelve semi precious stones representing each tribe worn by the high priest.  This breastpiece would be worn by the high priest over his heart when he entered the holy of holies once a year, and it would be a memorial before the LORD continually.  Each item had a spiritual significance.  The priest was responsible for putting the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece. He would carry the judgment of the sons of Israel over his heart continually.
Exodus 28:4-30

  Other items of interest were small bells around the hem of his robe, and the pure gold plate engraved with the words “Holy to the LORD” was worn on his turban.

  When I enter the sanctuary of my church, am I dressed beautifully to serve and worship my God?

Clothing itself is unimportant compared to others.  But am I beautifully clothed with what I can afford?   Following Jesus is the important thing, isn’t it?  My dress does not need to be expensive, but it does need to be modest and seemly, doesn’t it?  For both men and women.  Come before God to serve and worship Him beautifully, dressed inside and out.

John 12:26
“If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me;
and where I am, there My servant will be also;
if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”

Serve Jesus and while serving Him,
be beautifully dressed, in your heart and on your person.
