Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights on the top of Mount Sinai, most of the time in the presence of God, Himself.  Moses was receiving instructions for the sons of Israel, camped out at the foot to that mountain.  Exodus 24:16

One of the first things the LORD told Moses, have the people raise a contribution for Me, give with generosity.  Contributions of gold, silver, bronze; blue, purple and scarlet material; fine linen; goat hair, ram’s skins dyed red, porpoise skins; acacia wood; oil for lighting, spices for anointing oil and for fragrant incense; onyx stones, setting stones for the ephod and for the breastpiece.  Everything listed was for the building of the tabernacle and for worship of the LORD.

Where would they get all this treasure?  Remember, the Egyptians gave them much as they left in the middle of the night.  Gold, silver, bronze, materials and fine linen.  They could get the goat hair from their flocks, some of the rest the LORD would know they could obtain it or had it with them.

Notice nothing, not one word, about money being given!  It is all materials they would have with them.

The LORD showed Moses the pattern for the tabernacle which would be a traveling tent for worship.  Even the furniture was detailed and easily transported.  All according to the LORD’S plan.   Exodus 25:1-9

The furniture to be in the tabernacle and to be used in worship to the LORD.
The Ark of the Covenant – to contain the testimony of the LORD (the Ten Commandments); Mercy Seat to fit on top of the Ark of the Covenant; Table of shewbread; the Lampstand; gold used for beauty and glory of God.

The LORD’S reason to raise the requested contributions – to build a tabernacle and its furniture – for the worship of the LORD.  Exodus 25:10-40

God’s Word ~ Alive!
1 Timothy 6:17-18
“Instruct those who are rich in this present world
not to be conceited
or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches,
but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
Instruct them to do good,
to be rich in good works,
to be generous and ready to share.”

What are you giving to your church and its ministry?
Are you generous with your contributions for God’s purposes?
Are you trusting God for your financial needs?
