Genesis 7:1-24
Noah – built an ark – while building it he endured the ridicule of people. Noah, in reverence to God, prepared the ark to house animals, birds, his family – to save them alive in the coming judgment of God. Hebrews 11:7
Noah – condemned the world – their unbelief in God.
Noah – became an heir of righteousness – because he made a conscious choice to live by faith in God’s words to him.
Noah lived in days of chaos and frightening circumstances. God sent rain (rain had never been experienced) and the fountains (springs in the earth) burst open. The rain came down and the waters were not contained in the earth any longer.
People had nowhere to go – to escape the flood.
God’s judgment is frightening!
God sent the rain, it rained 40 days and 40 nights – there was no let up!
Genesis 7:17-20 The water covered even the high mountains – there was nowhere to hide or ‘be safe’ from God’s judgment – unless you were in the ark. (Today, that is a picture of the believer in Jesus Christ as their Savior. – The Lord Jesus Christ is the “ark”.)
Everything with the breath of life on the earth – died.
Genesis 7:21-22
God’s Word ~ Alive!
Hebrews 11:7
“By faith (a conscious choice) Noah being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of righteousness which is according to faith.”
Faith is a conscious choice!
