The support of troops
1 Chronicles 12:23-38
Many men came, from all the tribes of Israel, to give David military support to turn the kingdom of Saul to David. This was according to the word of the LORD.
The various tribes are named and what they brought to aid David.
The tribe of Manasseh came to make David king.
From the tribe of Issachar, were men who understood the times, and they had knowledge of what Israel should do. [Wouldn’t you want that kind of person on your side in a battle?]
From the tribe of Zebulun, men came who were skilled, experienced in battles and they helped David with an undivided heart. [Again, isn’t that who you would want standing with you?]
The other tribes came to engage in battle. They were ready!
Thousands of men “came to Hebron (where David was) with a perfect heart to make David king over all Israel.” 1 Chronicles 12:38
Wars and battles depend on the support of loyal troops!
