Songs of Worship – the Psalms
1 Chronicles 6:31-48
Before the temple was built – David’s appointed singers sang in the tent of meeting, the tabernacle where God was worshiped. 1 Chronicles 6:31-32
Many of the musicians were from the sons of Kohath and from the sons of Merari – from the tribe of Levi.
Other men’s names appear before a Psalm besides David’s name.
Sons of Korah – Psalm 42 and possibly Psalm 43, and Psalms 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 84, 85, 87, 88.
Asaph wrote many of the Psalms: Psalm 50, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83
Solomon also wrote a Psalm: Psalm 72.
Ethan the Ezrahite wrote Psalm 89.
Moses wrote Psalm 90 and possibly 91.
