Suffering…
(NASB) Deuteronomy 31:8 “The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
The Lord’s promise was given through Moses, thousands of years ago. The message is the same today as it was then. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ experience His love and presence in their suffering.
Christians have suffered through the centuries because of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand lived in Romania. Their story is unique, and their lives involved intense suffering on many levels. Both were imprisoned, separately, for many years because of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Imprisoned, beaten, tortured in many ways, starved – all because of their faith in Jesus. Who imprisoned them? Godless communists. Many others suffered in the many prisons throughout Romania, even some of the communists themselves would become prisoners, turned on by their own party.
How did Richard Wurmbrand deal with his captors? He learned, he chose, to love them.
“Hate communism,” Richard always declared, “but love and win the Communists for Christ.”

Today, September 20, 2019, there are many unknown Christian brothers and sisters in prison. Many who are facing suffering.
How can we help them? Pray! Pray for them. We are family…
(NASB) 1 Corinthians 12:26 “And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it…”
You can be an encourager to them… through praying for them.
The Voice of the Martyrs is a good place to begin. The Wurmbrand’s started this ministry after being released from prison. They experienced imprisonment, punishment, and torture for the love of Christ Jesus.

“How can I not pray for my unknown brothers and sisters in prison, tortured, starving, confined in cruelty and no place to worship?! ‘O Lord, that they would know freedom in Christ, even in prison, even in their circumstances! That they would experience Your faithfulness to them.’” (Quote from MKH)
