Looking back in your life, can you “see” how God has worked in your life? Think about where you are today compared with five years ago.
Throughout life, unexpected circumstances can be improbable, uncomfortable… to you.
Only God can work in your circumstances which may take you by surprise.
Can you say, “Only God could have done that!”?
A virgin, her name was Mary, was visited by an angel and told she would be a mother. The Holy Spirit of God would conceive in her God’s only begotten Son. Luke 1:35
Only God could have done that!
In Rome, Caesar Augustus decided – more taxes were needed! Everyone in the Roman Empire was to be taxed. How to do this? A census was needed. Names were to be listed for taxation purposes.
The living God of the Holy Bible orchestrated the decision for His Son, His only begotten Son to be born in Bethlehem… prophecy would be fulfilled.
“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.”
(NASB) Micah 5:2
Because of the decree handed down from powerful Rome, Joseph and Mary would have to travel from the backwater town of Nazareth to the town of their ancestor, King David. That town? Bethlehem.
Only God could have done that!
Travel weary, pregnant, about ready to deliver… Joseph and Mary arrived in Bethlehem. So many people were there due to the Roman decree.
They didn’t know anyone in Bethlehem, so they couldn’t stay with a family. The inn was full… the innkeeper was busy running about taking care of customers. This couple shows up and she is pregnant, very pregnant! Ah ha! The stable would be warm, and no one else would be there, except the animals… well, that couldn’t be helped. Just as was prophesied in the Old Testament. Micah 5:2
Only God could have done that!
