In the middle of giving his sons important information comes a thought – a prayer from Jacob to the living God.

(NASB) Genesis 49:18 “For Your salvation I wait, O LORD.”

Jacob did not depend upon himself as he gave these prophecies for each of his twelve sons.  He waited on the living LORD God’s salvation.

Ultimately, each person will stand before God and no one else.  All will answer to Him.

For followers of Christ, it is God’s salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus, on which our future in heaven depends.

Is your faith in your “good works,” or in someone other than the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ?  That won’t work.

(NASB) John 14:6b “Jesus said… ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”  (underlining added)

What does God say about His salvation?
(NASB) Romans 10:8-13 “But what does it say? ‘THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart’ – that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
13 for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’”

Jesus said in John 6:40 (NASB) “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.’”

~ Take it to heart ~

Jesus, Himself, promises salvation and all believers will be raised up on the last day by this same Jesus.

God has provided salvation to all who yield to His plan and provision through faith in His Son, Jesus.

“For Your salvation I wait, O LORD.”
