For the United States, today is Thanksgiving Day.  Much food is prepared, families gather; and not only is the turkey stuffed, so are those who are feasting.

For all followers of Christ, every day should be one of giving thanks to the Lord God for His many blessings, mercies and the grace He gives us.

(NASB) Psalm 118:24
“This is the day which the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Why should we give thanks?

Because the Lord is good; His love endures — forever!

Because the Lord is in my corner, He is on my side!  For this reason I am not to be afraid.

It is better to run to the Lord in prayer and take refuge in Him than to trust in people.
