How are you motivated to doing your job, your responsibilities?  For some, you may be a “self starter.”  For others, circumstances or people are the “starter button” to begin and to continue to do a job.  Still others may rely on the Lord for the beginning and the duration of the responsibility.

How are you motivated to do your job and responsibilities?

Ten of Joseph’s brothers were motivated by their father, Jacob, he was disgusted with them.  The grain supply was low, very low.  The ten men had families and they were doing nothing very constructive until their father talked to them. Their families needed food during the famine which was ravaging the land of Canaan.

(NASB) Genesis 42:1-3 “Now Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, and Jacob said to his sons, ‘Why are you staring at one another?’
2 He said, ‘Behold, I have heard that there is grain in Egypt; go down there and buy some for us from that place, so that we may live and not die.’
3 Then ten brothers of Joseph went down to buy grain from Egypt.”

The living God was in those circumstances of famine.  He was working out His best for His chosen people in Canaan.

God had positioned Joseph in Egypt for this time of famine.

The motivation the Lord used to get the ten brothers into Egypt was two-fold.  The first motivation: the famine and secondly, their father.

What motivation has God used in your life to do His will?
So many times, difficulties come into our lives and we just do not understand!
Only in looking back can we ‘see’ how God used our circumstances for His glory.

Where has God positioned you to do good for others thereby fulfilling His will?
God’s best is not only for our own lives but for the best in others lives.

What is your motivation for doing your job/responsibility today?
Our faith is placed in Him even when we cannot see through the mist and fog of today.

~ Take it to heart ~

Are you a “self-starter?”

Are you a person who waits on circumstances or others to give you a hard push to get started?

Or are you a person who is obeying God by doing what He says to do in His Word, the Holy Bible?

What is your motivation for doing your job/responsibility today?
