Need: Godly Wisdom
Isaac and Rebekah were married about twenty years and still no baby. The need: to have a child.
Isaac prayed to the Lord for Rebekah to become pregnant. The Lord answered his prayer and Rebekah conceived and was expecting a child. (Genesis 25:19-21)
This couple had a need, a very real need and Isaac prayed. The Lord answered his prayer and fulfilled their need.
What need(s) do you have, right now? Have you prayed for your need(s)? The prayer of faith believes God hears and answers prayer – your prayer.
One need we all have as followers of Christ – Godly wisdom.
God’s word defines His wisdom as coming only from above, from God Himself.
(NASB) James 3:17-18 “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”
Other translations use other words to define Godly wisdom, and all are valid: courteous, willing to yield to reason, submissive, whole-hearted and straightforward, impartial, free from doubts and insincerity.
We all need Godly wisdom in responding to people throughout our day.
~ Take it to heart ~
Praying for Godly wisdom is the wisest thing I can do, right now.
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”
