Step-by-step the Lord guides those who rely on Him.  So many times, we cannot see the end of God’s leading.  However, we can trust Him to get us there.

He knows His plans for us.  He knows the what, when, where and how.  For God’s purposes to be fulfilled!  Completed!  Done! We are to follow Him.

Abraham had a servant who followed his instructions.  Even to the point of taking a ten camel caravan on a journey that lasted many days and weeks… back to the land of Abraham’s birth.

This faithful servant served his master even when the master was “back there” in Canaan.

How faithful are we to serve our Lord even when nobody is watching?

This servant is not named in this portion of Scripture… he is known only as Abraham’s servant.  Do we want recognition for doing what God calls us to do?  What if, beginning today, we serve God for His glory alone – without our name ever being mentioned?

This servant prayed at the end of his journey.  He prayed to the living God of his master, Abraham with specific prayer requests.

He asked for success – today.
He asked the living God to show lovingkindness to his master, Abraham – not for himself!
His actions then proved he was intent on serving his master, even from a distance.

The servant purposely went to the water well at the time of day when women came to draw water for their families needs.
(Genesis 24:10-13)

The servant asked the Lord God that the girl who he would ask for a drink would also offer water all ten of his camel’s needed.

This servant was intent on serving his master.

Being followers of Christ – are we truly serving our Master, the Lord Jesus?  OR are we intent on serving ourselves?

“Listen” to what Jesus says –
(NASB) John 12:26 “If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.”

‘Forgive me for being self-serving Lord Jesus.  Teach me to serve You alone, throughout each day.’

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) Psalm 143:8 “Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning;
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul.”
