One example of a servant’s prayer is found in the life of Abraham’s servant, sent to find a wife for Abraham’s son, Isaac.

The servant chose ten camels and loaded them with “good things of his master’s hands.”  (Genesis 24:10)

He traveled to Ur of the Chaldees, a loooong way from Canaan.  The servant reached the city where Abraham’s brother lived.  Then he made the camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water in the evening, the time women go out to draw water.  (Genesis 24:11)

Then the servant prayed to the Lord, the God of his master, Abraham.

He asked for success to fulfill his master’s quest.  He also asked God to “show lovingkindness to my master Abraham.”
(Genesis 24:12)

Is this how you carry out your responsibilities to your employer?  Praying for success as you do your job?  Praying for the Lord to show lovingkindness to your employer?

The following could be our prayer today, follower of Christ.
(NASB) Psalm 143:10-12 “Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
11 For the sake of Your name, O Lord, revive me.
In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And in Your lovingkindness, cut off my enemies
And destroy all those who afflict my soul,
For I am Your servant.”

~ Take it to heart ~

‘For I am Your servant, let me be found faithful, doing Your will.’
