(NASB) Genesis 22:1 “NOW IT came about after these things, that God tested Abraham. And said to him, ‘Abraham!’  And he said, ‘Here I am.’”

As we grow older in our walk with the Lord, the more deeply tested is our faith.  Abraham experienced this reality.  Perhaps you are experiencing a hard test.

Tests stretch us and grow us.  We are to cling even more closely to our God.  Are you still saying, “Here I am” to the Lord in the middle of a devastating test?

What test would be the greatest test in your life?  For Abraham it was the giving up of his only heir and beloved son, Isaac.

What was the greatest test for God the Father?  It was giving up His only begotten Son and heir, Jesus Christ.

What or who are you clinging to as if you could be a ‘god,’ as if you have complete control?  The living God of the Bible asked Abraham to give his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice.

Are you willing to give the same God your child, your grandchild, your spouse, your sibling or a close friend?  God does not ask us to kill anyone as a sacrificial offering to Him.  He does ask us to intentionally take our hands off of another’s life so He can work unhindered.

How do you respond to God’s call to you?  Abraham said, “Here I am.”

~ Take it to heart ~

God’s test began with a personal call to Abraham.
God’s test begins with calling your name.
How are you responding?
