The living God spoke to Abram (later called Abraham), calling him to leave his home in Ur of the Chaldeans and go to a land which God would show him.  The Lord God Almighty was calling Abram to follow Him.  (Genesis 12:1-4)

The inclusiveness of God
One of the promises in the covenant God made with Abram:
(NIV) Genesis 12:3b “… and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

The Lord God promised to bless all peoples through Abraham, those who are Jewish and those who are not.

How can this be?  It is by faith in the living God.
(NASB) Galatians 3:7-9 “Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.
8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, ‘All the nations will be blessed in you.’
9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham the believer.”

The exclusiveness of God
Abraham believed God’s words to him.  His faith was counted as righteousness in the sight of God.  “… and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Jesus was born in the lineage of Abraham… Jesus, Messiah, the Anointed One of God, the promised One who is Savior and Redeemer.
All who believe Jesus to be Messiah, God’s Anointed One, live by faith in the risen Lord Jesus Christ.  He is in the genealogy of Abraham.

(NASB) Matthew 1:1 “The record of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”

Either you believe God’s words and are blessed… or you don’t.

Either you believe in Jesus as your Savior and are blessed … or you don’t.

Either you live by faith in Jesus every day and are blessed … or you don’t.

~ Take it to heart ~

Abraham chose to respond to God’s call to him and believed God’s words to him.
Are you believing God’s words?
Remember: they are to you and for you.

We are to live by faith in the living God, just as Abraham did.
