We are much like Abram of old.  We respond to God’s call and hear His promise to us then we “mess up” and go our own way.  How thankful we should be that when we recognize our willfulness, we ask His forgiveness and He forgives!  We have a new page on which to write our lives.

Faith in the living God is the key to walking with Him.  Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is all important as we live each day.  Responding to God’s call is not a “once and done,” our response is to be daily.

Remember: Our salvation is once and done, for Christ is our Savior forever and ever.

Abram was called by God while he lived in Ur of the Chaldeans (Iraq today).  (Genesis 15:7)

God gave His covenant to this man which is far reaching, even today.  Abram responded to God’s call and left Ur, traveling to Haran.  He lived there some years then after his father Terah died, he again heard God and left his home for Canaan.  (Genesis 12:4)

Abram followed God’s call to him… then he willfully went his own way.  God intervened in his life and Abram got back on track.  He worshiped God.  (Genesis 12:4-20; 13:1-4)

Followers of Christ, we are not perfect.  God knows this fact.  God provides for us to come back to Him in repentance and worship.

Are you “on track” with God’s call to you?  If so, praise Him.  If not, seek Him and His forgiveness and turn from your willful ways.  Respond to God’s call to you – today.

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you.   Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Receiving Jesus as our Savior is a one time decision.
Responding to God is a day by day choice.
God is faithful: follow Him ~ worship Him!
