God Dealt with Satan’s Sin
Satan is a deceiver, a murderer, the father of lies. Satan deceived Eve and she disobeyed God’s distinct command – “You shall not eat from it (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil).”
God deals with sin in our lives. He does not count to “10” or even “3,” He has given us His boundaries and when we cross those lines… He deals with us. That is what love does, God does not let us get away with sin. The Lord God dealt with sin, immediately… He did not put it off.
Discipline should be done from a motive of love. If you don’t have love as the basis of your discipline… then your discipline will be harsh and unkind.
God punished the perpetrator of sin, Satan, first.
(NASB) Genesis 3:14-15
“The Lord God said to the serpent,
‘Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go,
And dust you will eat
All the days of your life;
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
God’s punishment of the serpent (Satan) was just. Satan was given a death sentence through the promise of Messiah given in verse 15. Jesus is the woman’s “seed” and He gave a death blow to Satan when He died on the cross and it was proven when He came to physical life three days later. Satan did bruise Jesus on His heel – when Jesus’ feet were nailed to the cross.
Satan is defeated – he was defeated by Jesus when He died for our sins, taking our just punishment on the cross. God requires a perfect blood offering for sins to be forgiven. Jesus did that! His life was given so you and I can have forgiveness. Faith in Jesus is all important.
Satan was condemned by the Lord God in the Garden of Eden. His deception led Eve and Adam to sin by disobeying God.
The first time Jesus came, He came as Savior, He came to save us from our sins. He did that when He died on the cross and was resurrected from the grave.
~ Take it to heart ~
God dealt with Satan’s sin.
God promised Messiah ~ we have a Savior!
