Facing a Fact:
The realities of life should help each person to turn to the living God of the Holy Bible.  We are all going to die, pass on, depart this earth.  That is a harsh reality of life.  How do many live their lives with that reality?  Denial and pretending it won’t happen will not change this fact.

Facing Life Factually as a Follower of Christ:
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:1 “FOR WE know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Followers of Christ – keep eternity in view in your circumstances today.  This is not all there is!  Heaven is coming for each one of Christ’s committed followers.

Facing a Fact:
Life is not easy and many times we groan.  Groaning is not complaining, but be cautious, it could become whining and complaining.

Facing Life Factually as a Follower of Christ:
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:2-3 “For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.”
(Naked used in this way means “without a body.”)

We will have a resurrected physical, eternal body… Jesus is our example of this kind of resurrection.  He died and He was resurrected with a physical body.  We also will die and in God’s timing be resurrected with a physical body.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:4 “For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.”

Facing a Fact:
God’s purpose is to prepare us for life in eternity with Him.  Notice this wonderful phrase, “so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.”

Facing Life Factually as a Follower of Christ:
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:5 “Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.”

God promised us this future hope with a pledge of His Holy Spirit… He will it carry out; He will fulfill His promise to us. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are given His Holy Spirit.  And we will be resurrected.
