The Lord God of the Holy Bible is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; He is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.
(2 Corinthians 1:2-3)

What are some of the things God does for us as His children, as followers of Christ?

God establishes – a continuing action of God
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:21 “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ… ”

The living God establishes us – it is He who began a good and great work in our life – He continues to confirm us to the end.  He makes us blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus.
(1 Corinthians 1:8)
We are safe, secure and saved for all eternity because our faith is in Jesus as our Savior.

God anoints – a continuing action of God
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:21 “… and anointed us is God… ”

We are set apart, we are consecrated for God’s sacred use – it is God who does that for us!

God sealed – a past action of God
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:22 “who also sealed us… ”

When we received Christ into our lives, at that very moment, we were sealed by God Himself.
God’s word is a seal because “God is true.”  (John 3:33)

Not only is God true, He set His seal on the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 6:27)
And what is more — all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior are sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit of promise! (Ephesians 1:13)

What confidence we have as followers of Christ.  Our foundation is firm, we are sealed and God knows who are His.  (2 Timothy 2:19)

We are given a warning — do not grieve God the Holy Spirit – for by Him we are sealed for the day of redemption.  (Ephesians 4:30)

God’s pledge– a past action of God
(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:22 “… and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.”

Our God has given us a pledge that He will keep His promise; He gave us Himself, God the Holy Spirit.  Amazing God!

~ Take it to heart ~

I am never to forget ~ ever!  I am one of my Shepherd’s sheep.  I am to listen to His voice.

My Shepherd knows me, even me!  I am to follow Him!  He gives me eternal life and I will never perish ~ ever!  No one can snatch me out of His hand ~ ever!

God the Father gave me to God the Son, and He is greater than all ~ no one is able to snatch me out of the Father’s hand ~ ever!
(John 10:27-29)
