(NASB) 2 Corinthians 5:7 “for we walk by faith, not by sight – ”

The lesson of the spider’s “thread.”

Picture a two story house.  It is early morning, the sun has just risen revealing a new day.
The sunlight reveals a thin thread reaching from the roof to the deck or porch below.  A breeze stirs the “thread” to move and yet it does not break.

The “thread” of the spider is unseen until the sun shines on it.  Faith, my faith, is like that thread.  It is anchored in the living God in heaven and comes into my life, connecting me to Him.  Faith is evident when God’s light shines into the dark places of my life.

Like the spider’s thread, the amazing grace of God, the amazing mercy of God reaches down to me in my life, right now, where I am.

My faith is to be strong in Him; the circumstances of my life will not break that connection to my God.  For I am to walk by faith in Him, not looking at my feelings, my circumstances or other people, looking only to Him!

I am to cling to, hang on tightly to the living God, for He is faithful – His strength for me is greater than all other powers.

Faith in Him for this day can be likened to a spider’s thin thread.  My faith is anchored by God in heaven and reaches down to me – He is the living God who is the unseen reality.  He is God my Savior.  It is His strength, His power, His reaching down to me on which my faith is anchored.

~ Take it to heart ~

(NASB) Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

My faith is assured hope in Christ Jesus.  My faith is certain because the unseen reality of Christ Jesus is God my Savior.
