Where do we place our trust?  If we place trust in ourselves, we are defeated before the battle begins, we are “dead in the water.”

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:9 “indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;”

One day, all people will die, we will “pass.”  Trusting in ourselves is futile, defeating and deadly.

Because we all die – we have “the sentence of death within ourselves.”  For this reason we are not to trust in ourselves.  Our abilities, our power, our authority, our wealth, our education, our egos will all come to an end.  We are not to trust in ourselves.

Followers of Christ, we have the living God as our Savior.  We can trust Him.  He displayed His power when He raised His Son, Jesus, from the dead.

Trust is confidence in the living God.  Unfailing trust is confidence in His power to raise the dead to life.  He is the sure hope.

God alone has power to raise anyone from defeat and deadness to life through faith in the living Lord Jesus Christ.  He was raised from the dead, He is alive!

~ Take it to heart ~

No fear or anxiety is to override my trust in God.
(NASB) Psalm 56:11 “In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?”

“Lord, bring me from the defeat and deadness of trusting myself or others.
In You alone, I trust today!
You alone have the power to give life!
To You belong honor, glory, praise and worship.”
