God the Father’s word says to bless Him.  Who is this God?  He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the Father of mercies.  He is the God of all comfort.  (2 Corinthians 1:3)

What work needs to be done to experience God’s mercies?  None, zilch, nada.  No work on my part, God did all the work; and we are to bless Him!

(NASB) 1 Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead… ”

By God the Father’s mercies, He caused all followers of Christ to be “born again.”  He gives assured hope through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What has God the Father given to all followers of Christ?  He gives us an inheritance through faith in the Lord Jesus.
(NASB) 1 Peter 1:4 “to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you… ”

Inheritance reserved for all people whose faith is in Jesus.
We are given this promise, this hope!

We have an inheritance waiting for us that no one can take away – which is beyond the reach of any change.

Our inheritance will never decay.  It is imperishable.  It is unfading, pure and it will never be taken from us.  God the Father has our inheritance reserved in heaven.

Followers of Christ are Very Important People!
We are protected by God’s power.

(NASB) 1 Peter 1:5 “who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

What actions are needed to be included in God’s promise, His inheritance, His family and His power?  The only action required is to yield to God’s Son as Savior.  It is to believe, to place our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior.  There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved.  (Acts 4:12)

~ Take it to heart ~

How does anyone experience God the Father’s mercies?

I am saved through faith in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
It is only by the Almighty God’s mercies that I am saved.  His mercies come through faith in Jesus Christ.

(NASB) 2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies… ”
