First Advent of Messiah
The Lord God sent the angel Gabriel to a young virgin in Nazareth.  Her name was Mary.
The angel’s greeting perplexed Mary…what kind of greeting was this?  “Greetings, favored one!  The Lord is with you.”  (NASB Luke 1:26-29)

God’s prophecy, put into action in God’s timing.

Gabriel told Mary what was going to happen through her – to fulfill the prophecy the Lord God gave to Isaiah hundreds of years earlier.  (NASB Isaiah 7:14 “…Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel…”)

What did Gabriel say?
(NASB) Luke 1:31 “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.”

Second Advent of Messiah
Then Gabriel continued with more prophecy that is yet to be fulfilled today.
(NASB) Luke 1:32-33 “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
33 and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

Hmmm.  “…the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David”
Let’s compare NASB 2 Samuel 7:12, 13, 16 “When your (David) days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant (Messiah) after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 ‘He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
16 ‘Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”

Another prophecy to consider: “and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”

NASB Daniel 2:44 “In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.”

NIV Daniel 7:14 “He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him.  His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.”

God’s timing ~ Jesus (Messiah) was born of a virgin, according to God’s word.

God’s timing ~ Jesus (Messiah) is coming as King over all nations, according to God’s word.

God’s timing ~ God’s words are eternal.

NASB Psalm 119:89 “Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.”

The Lord Jesus is the Son of God, Messiah.
