In God’s perfect timing – He sent a messenger, Gabriel, to a small town in Galilee called Nazareth.

The living God is not impressed, nor interested, in what people consider important or imperative.  He is interested in fulfilling His words of prophecy.  He is interested that every person believes what He says.

It is amazing how God works.  Consider the fulfilling of His prophecy through Isaiah.
(NASB) Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

The Lord God included a young virgin to fulfill His prophecy of Messiah.  He also included the virgin’s future husband. (Matthew 1:18)  Joseph and Mary were engaged (betrothed); they were legally obligated to each other before their marriage.  Both of them were descendants of King David and the Bible states the promised Messiah would come through King David.  (2 Samuel 2:12-13, 16)  Amazing work of God!
Mary’s lineage (Luke 3:31) Joseph’s lineage (Matthew 1:6-7)

God sent a messenger to Mary.  He also sends messages to you and me.  Are we listening?  Are we responding in belief to what He is saying?

Why was there a need for Jesus, Messiah, the Anointed One of God to be your Savior and mine?  We “mess up,” we sin!  We need a Savior and His name is Jesus.  He is the only begotten Son of God.  He alone is Messiah!  He alone is God’s Anointed One!

Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”  (NASB John 3:16)

Do you believe that you need a Savior?  If you do not, do you ever lie?  Do you ever think one negative, demeaning thing toward another, but play nicey-nicey with them?  Do you talk about another with the intent to put them “down?”
What about your actions, are you ready to trip others up to make yourself look good?  What is your motive in life?  Do you actually believe you do not need a Savior?

God fulfilled His promise by sending a messenger to Mary, to the young virgin, who lived in Nazareth of Galilee.  He fulfilled His promise of a Savior for you.  He knew you and I needed a Savior, many long years before we were born.

You were that important to the living God Who always fulfills His promises.
