Paul was taken to Rome as a prisoner and allowed to stay by himself with a Roman soldier guarding him.  He was under house arrest for two years.  In those two years, he could receive visitors.  He wrote valuable letters under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit included in the New Testament.  (Acts 28:16, 30)

Paul could not travel the roads that led to the various churches he “planted.”  But he did write letters during his imprisonment.

Paul did not have “his boots on the ground” but he did have pen in hand.

Paul traveled many miles by land and sea during his three missionary journeys over a span of many years.  His experiences involved human relationships and his circumstances prepared him to write.

God’s purposes and plans for Paul produced invaluable aid to all who read Paul’s letters.  You are one of those benefiting as you read God’s words through the pen of Paul.

We are to read and study God’s words because they come from God Himself to us.  They are invaluable to us.  Are we listening to Him?  Are we putting His words into action?

Paul wrote letters which are letters of value, even in today’s world.

What letters did Paul write?
He wrote to the region of Galatia possibly on his first missionary journey. Book of Galatians
He wrote to churches he “planted” on his first missionary journey when he was on his second & third missionary journeys. 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Corinthians and Romans.
When he was under house arrest in Rome he wrote to the Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians and to an individual, Philemon.
When he was let out of prison he wrote to two pastors –        1 Timothy and Titus
Then he was in prison for the last time. Before he was martyred…he wrote 2 Timothy.

God’s word is given to you through the letters of Paul…they are letters of value.

When you read these letters, read them as if they have been sent to you…for they are addressed to you.  They are from the living God!
