Barnabas and Saul were sent out by the Holy Spirit from the church at Antioch.
They traveled to the seaport of Seleucia and from there they took a ship to Cyprus…then traveled to Salamis.  After reaching this city, they located the synagogue of the Jews and there they proclaimed the word of God.  They also had a helper, one whom they had brought with them from Antioch, John Mark.  (Acts 13:5)

What is not talked about in Scripture?
Money…money needed for the journey.
Relationships…how they were developed during the travel among the three men.
Experiences…encountered during their time on the road and on board a ship.
Food…was it good, not so good or just plain awful?
Sleeping accommodations…uncomfortable or had a good nights sleep.
Treatment by people they met…rudeness, kindliness, hostility or tolerated.
Conversations…among the three and with those they had with others.
Time…hours and days to reach their destination.
Attitudes toward aggravations that come with travel…how they handled difficulties.
Destination…when traveling, was their focus on the journey or on their destination.

When you travel, do you complain about the food, the beds or the accommodations that hotels/motels provide?
Are your frustrations apparent, perhaps even rude, toward the people with whom you have contact?
Travel requires patience, no matter how we are feeling after a poor night of sleep, or food we do not care for, or time zone changes.

What is your witness as you travel?  What kind of “trail” do you leave as you travel…one where people would welcome you back or one where they are glad you are gone?

How you handle travel reflects on the Lord God.
Your travel focus is of utmost importance…keep in mind your destination.
