(NASB) Acts 6:1 “NOW AT this time while the disciples were increasing in number; a complaint arose on the part of the Hellenistic Jews against the native Hebrews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily serving of food.” 

Problem:
  The church was growing in Jerusalem.  People were turning to Jesus as their Savior – Jewish people who were from Judea and Galilee and Jewish people who were from the Greek culture (Hellenistic).  What was the problem?  The Jewish widows from other lands were being overlooked in the daily serving of food. 

  What problem(s) does your church need to solve?  Every church will have challenges in different ways. 

  Wise, godly leaders will turn to God in prayer, seeking His solutions to deal with the problems and issues as soon as possible. 
  Problems swept under the rug will not go away…they will increase in intensity and cause greater discord.

  Problems will produce complaints.  How the complaints are dealt with is crucial to the unity among believers.
  Problems are real and so are complaints. 

  Some complaints are whining and self-serving.  They do not have real solutions because those kinds of complaints will never be solved until the complaining ones mature in their walk with the Lord as their Master.
  Some complaints are problems with real solutions.  All need to be dealt with so the church can come together in forgiveness, unity and love.   

(NIV) Ephesians 4:14-16 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.  15Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.  16From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
