The prayer of the week is based on Isaiah 53:4-6

Holy God of the Bible…Your words are truth, every one of them.  You have prophesied of Your Son by the great prophet, Isaiah.  You fulfilled that prophecy when Jesus took our weaknesses, our distresses, our sins on Himself when He was crucified.

Yet, the men watching Him die thought that You, Father, was wounding and punishing Him for His sins.  Not so!  Jesus was being crucified for our sins, our transgressions, our wrongs!  Our punishment was given to Jesus so we could be healed.

Father, Lord God Almighty, Holy God, You caused our sins to be given to Messiah Jesus.

Thank You!  Thank You, Father, for Your plan of salvation!  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for obediently becoming the sacrificial Lamb of God!  Thank You, Holy Spirit of God, for guiding our thinking and leading us to Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Our faith is to be in Jesus, only Jesus, for our salvation.

In His sacrificial name I pray, Amen.
