Peter and John were commanded not to speak in the name of Jesus.  And their response?
(NASB) Acts 4:19-20 “…‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge;
20 for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.’”

Are you in such a situation as Peter and John were?  Peter and John did not relinquish their faith in Christ, or deny Christ, or turn from their belief in Jesus Christ.

Much later, years later, John wrote a letter…many lessons can be drawn from the following Scripture…but a few lessons could be:
1- The followers of Christ: our faith gives us the victory that overcomes the world. (1 John 5:1-4)
2- The testimonies of the Holy Spirit of truth are all about the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 John 5:5-12

(NASB) 1 John 5:11-12 “And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.”
And you?  Do you have the life which only comes from God the Father through Jesus, the Son of God?

Continuing with some of the lessons we can learn:
3- Confidence that as followers of Christ you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13)
4- Confidence that we have the requests we ask of God (for He hears us).       (1 John 5:14-15)
5- We know God has forgiven us and we will not deliberately sin against Him. (1 John 5:18)
6- We know that God gives us His divine protection. (1 John 5:18)
7- We know that we are of God and the world around us is controlled by Satan. (1 John 5:19)
8- We know that the Son of God has come and He is knowable.                       (1 John 5:20)
9- Our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ!  And what a Christ we have!
“This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20)

Followers of Christ – you have the following testimony!
(NASB) 1 John 5:11-12 “And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.”
