God supplies our needs as we do the work He calls us to do.  He is creative and has unique ways to fulfill His plans and purposes.  Consider Jesus as He sent out 72 followers on a Missions trip throughout Israel during His ministry.  He told them to not take anything with them, no money, no suitcase and no extra shoes.  And those disciples experienced God’s provisions.  (Luke 22:35)
Now, as Jesus was talking with His intimate followers (eleven of them) He gave them opposite instructions.  What was with that?!  (Luke 22:36-38)

What you and I need to realize and remember – God is not limited on how His work is done.  He uses a variety of ways in fulfilling His plans and purposes.  His ways are unique as He calls His followers to do His will.  In fact, our God is so great He even has used His enemies for His purposes.

What are some examples of God using enemies of His people?
Old Testament Examples:
2 Kings 17:7-23 – God used the Assyrians to discipline His people by taking them into exile and dispersing them throughout the empire of Assyria.  Why?  Because God’s people had refused to worship Him alone.  (Paraphrased)

2 Chronicles 36:15-21 – God used the Babylonian empire to discipline His people by taking them into exile in Babylon.  God’s people had once again refused to listen to the prophets’ warning to turn to Him and worship Him alone.  (Paraphrased)

New Testament Examples:
(NASB) Luke 22:37 “For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘And He was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.”

God’s plans and purposes were fulfilled through Christ Jesus’ death on the cross by the enemies of God!

God is not limited to one method of operation…He is the Creator; He is the All-wise, All-Encompassing God.  There is none other like Him!

God’s Plans & Purposes will be fulfilled!
