The importance of preparation cannot be overstated.
Preparation: The state of being made ready beforehand; readiness.

Preparation for any work or ministry takes foresight, and forethought (if that isn’t a word, it is for this devotional).
Preparation takes energy to put any plan into action to achieve the desired results.
Preparation may include others in the plan.
What preparation do you need to do for God’s will to be on-going in your life?  Is God’s word and prayer a vital part of your preparation or are you “winging” it?

Why would Jesus go to such lengths to keep the place where He would keep Passover with His twelve disciples a secret?
Jesus knew that Judas Iscariot was seeking to betray Him.  Judas had already been to the chief priests and scribes to betray Jesus.  He was looking for where Jesus would be alone or with His disciples without the crowds.  So Jesus did not tell any of His disciples about His plans.  The other disciples had no clue to the betrayer in their midst.

The preparation by Jesus for this Passover was of great significance and importance.

(NASB) Luke 22:7-13 “Then came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
8 and Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, ‘Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.’
9 They said to Him, ‘Where do You want us to prepare it?’
10 And He said to them, ‘When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.
11 ‘And you shall say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, ‘Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’
12 ‘And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.’
13 And they left and found everything just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.”

Jesus had prepared signals that would not be noticeable or “read” by the opposition.  He was being shrewd as a serpent and as innocent as a dove.  (Matthew 10:16)
Jesus had very important things to do and say to His twelve disciples before His death.
Jesus was preparing His disciples to go into the world to proclaim the Good News of faith in the risen Christ Jesus.  He was preparing them for God’s will to be done.

What do you need to do in order to do God’s will, for what do you need to be making preparations?
