(NASB) Luke 21:34 “Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;”

What weighs anyone down?  Jesus said:
1-dissipation – unhealthy living
2-drunkenness – any form of drug abuse
3-worries of life – worry, worry, worry!

Anyone of us, that’s you and me, can fit into at least one of these categories at some point in our lives.  Perhaps you have had a changed life because of placing your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
Jesus called these three categories “traps.”  Traps that suddenly give one no place to go – caught!  And death is imminent: dissipation, drunkenness, worries of life.

  What are we to do?
(NASB) Luke 21:34 “Be on guard…”
(NASB) Luke 21:36 “…keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

  Be on our guard!
Keep alert – at     all     times.
Praying to have strength to escape all that is about to happen – for what Jesus said would happen – will!

For the followers of Christ we have the right to stand before the Son of Man without condemnation.

What is your insurance and assurance that you will not be separated from God in eternity?
(NASB) Acts 16:31 “…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved…”
(NASB) Romans 10:8-11 “…‘THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, in your mouth and in your heart’   –that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’”

What is weighing you down today?
(NASB) Psalm 46:1-2 “GOD IS our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble,
2 Therefore we will not fear…”
