Beautiful buildings and ancient edifices of antiquity are preserved.  Even during war, many times, a beautiful building of significance will be left untouched.

Jesus probably was standing in the Temple area as He spoke to the people around Him.
(NASB) Luke 21:5-6 “And while some were talking about the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts (consecrated offerings), He said,
6As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.’”

Can you imagine the reaction this caused among these Jewish men and women?  This Temple built of huge white stones, adorned with much gold, this building torn down?  Impossible!

Think back to September 11, 2001, those twin towers in New York City, collapsed, the steel melted?  Impossible!

In 70 AD the Romans came and tore down that beautiful building, they set it afire.  Why?  The gold would be striped from those stones and columns.  Those massive white stones were not left one on top of another.  What Jesus said would happen – did!
Jesus is the Prophet.  He told what would happen about forty years later.

As the result of the Romans taking over Jerusalem and setting it afire, the Jewish believers in Jesus fled the city.  They moved to other cities and to other countries.  As they lived in other places they spread the Good News of Jesus Christ, Savior, Redeemer, living God!
God’s word was spread because of the persecution of the followers of Christ.

Are you going where other believers in Jesus need encouragement through faith in the true words of God?
In your present circumstances (no matter how oppressive or limited you may be) are you being a faithful witness to God’s strengthening you in your life?
Your difficult circumstances may be used by God for His glory to be known in and through your life.
You may not have many resources at hand, but you do have God the Holy Spirit living in you.  Share Christ!

How does the living God of the Holy Bible want you to give out His Good News today?
