A Song of Thanksgiving & Praise
Psalm 100 is a song of thanksgiving and praise – it is all about the LORD God Himself!
By faith in Jesus anyone can go through that door into the presence of God. Thank Him! Praise Him! Jesus is Whom you and I are to believe in and where our faith is to be placed, this day! When are we to do this? Now! And we will do it when Jesus comes as King!
What are we to do?
(NASB) Psalm 100:1 “SHOUT JOYFULLY to the LORD, all the earth.”
Notice: no conditions are given! It is not a matter of how we are feeling. We are to choose to be joyful in our circumstances by how we think, what we say and how we act.
How are we to do it?
(NASB) Psalm 100:2 “Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.”
Notice: we are to serve God, and not ourselves!
Notice: we are to consciously come into His presence and to do so with joyful singing.
Who is this all about?
(NASB) Psalm 100:3 “Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”
Notice: We are to know, without a doubt, that the LORD Himself is God! (There is none other God!)
Notice: The Lord God has made you and me…we have not made the part of us that will go into eternity.
Notice: Followers of Christ are God’s people, His children, the sheep of His pasture…what a Shepherd we have…praise and thanksgiving belong to Him.
Where will we do this?
(NASB) Psalm 100:4 “Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.”
Notice: We are to enter His presence through His designated gate…Jesus is the only door which gives you and me access into God’s presence. We are to praise Him! We are to thank Him for that beautiful Door! We are to bless Him for the privilege He has given us.
Why will we do this?
(NASB) Psalm 100:5 “For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”
Notice: This is Why we are to enter into His presence with praise and thanksgiving:
He is good, lovingly kind (forever and ever), faithful to all generations.
What a privilege!
This day…This time…Praise Him! Thank Him!
