Jesus was talking to His disciples in the middle of a crowd of thousands (see Luke 12:1).
Then Peter asked Him a question…
(NASB) Luke 12:41 “…‘Lord, are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?’”

Jesus answered in this way:
(NASB) Luke 12:42-44 “And the Lord said, ‘Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?
43 ‘Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.
44 ‘Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.”

Jesus continued with a warning for those who would act differently if his master is not present. (This devotional will explore those verses next week.)

Jesus expects His followers to be faithful and sensible in whatever He calls them to do.
Jesus blesses His followers, those whom He finds faithful when He comes again.
Jesus will give greater responsibility to such servants.

What has Jesus called you to do?  There you are to be faithful and use godly wisdom in fulfilling that responsibility.

We are to remain faithful despite Jesus not being physically present.  Then, when we are in His presence, we will hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share your master’s happiness!” [(NIV) Matthew 25:21, 23]

Where are you to be found faithful by Jesus, today?

Jesus expects His followers to be faithful and use godly wisdom in whatever He calls them to do.  Are you so doing?
Jesus blesses His followers, those whom He finds faithful when He comes again.  Will you be so doing when He comes?
Jesus will give greater responsibility to such servants.  What now is your prayer?
