Worry = Little Faith
Worry equals little faith in Almighty God, Jesus said so!
(NASB) Luke 12:27-32 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
28 ‘But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You men of little faith!
29 ‘And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying.
30 ‘For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things.
31 ‘But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
32 ‘Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.”
For the followers of Christ – we are not to keep worrying about our needs – our Father knows our needs. Yes, we need clothing and food; these are some of the basics of life.
How are we to replace worrying? Jesus said, “…seek His kingdom” and don’t worry.
Have you thought about this – worry is a type of fear.
When you and I worry about our needs – our “little faith” is showing.
When we worry about others needs – our “little faith” is showing.
Consider carefully:
Little faith = worry ~
Worry = fear ~
Fear = not trusting the Creator God to keep His words of truth ~
Perhaps you are a skeptic or a person who is argumentative or always takes the opposing viewpoint: clothes and food do not miraculously appear. I agree – but the living God provides the means for my basic needs…and He does it way far better than I would if left to myself.
Also in the Bible there are historical instances when God: fed and clothed the multitude leaving Egypt for the Promised Land; provided oil in containers; provided bread in the wilderness for Elijah; Jesus fed thousands from two small fish and five small loaves of bread, perhaps you can think of others.
When you worry, your little faith is showing.
When you worry, fear is in control.
When you worry, you are not trusting the living God.
(NIV) Romans 1:16-17 “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’”
How are you living? By worrying or by faith?
