Followers of Christ in many countries of the world are being harassed, oppressed, even imprisoned and killed.

And what did Jesus say?
(NASB) Luke 12:4 “‘I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.”

What?  We aren’t to fear the enemies of God, even if we are killed?  Yes, that is true, because Jesus said so.
Jesus also said – after a person is killed their murderer can do nothing further to them.

(NASB) Luke 12:5 “‘But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!’”

Jesus warned us about God’s wrath…He kills people.  But, but…God is the God of love and love does not kill anyone.  Is this the point in which I ignore God’s truth?

What does Hebrews 10:26-31 say?
(NASB) Hebrews 10:26-31 “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.
28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know Him who said, ‘VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY.’  And again, ‘THE LORD WILL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE.’  (See Deuteronomy 32:35)
31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Those are God’s words, not people’s words of revenge.  And do you notice that these words are in the New Testament, as well as the Old Testament?
These judgments are God’s divine penalties for unbelief in His gracious act of giving His only begotten Son to save you and me from our sins and His wrath on those very sins.

Fearing God’s wrath is not for Christ’s followers – but those without Christ as their Savior…should fear God with a real, terrifying fear.

He has the power and the authority to kill (Vengeance is Mine, I will repay!) and to throw unbeliever’s into hell!

Without faith in Jesus Christ – there should be a real and terrifying fear of God.

They need Jesus to be the One Who will save them from their sins and likewise from God’s wrath through faith in Jesus.

Yes, there should be a real, terrifying fear for those without faith in Christ Jesus.
