For what did Jesus say we are to ask for, seek and knock as we pray to God the Father in heaven?
(NASB) Luke 11:11-13 “Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?’
12 ‘Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he?
13 ‘If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

We are to ask for God’s Holy Spirit!
Think about this:
What did Jesus say was the most important request for which you and I should ask the Father in heaven?  Himself!  To receive Jesus Christ as our Savior is the most important request we can ever make!
Think about that!

When we ask, seek, knock on God’s door – we are to ask, seek and knock to be given Christ Jesus’ forgiveness through His work on the cross.  When we do receive Him into our hearts by faith…God the Holy Spirit is given to live within.  Think about that!

When we are given God the Holy Spirit – our old nature (the ones we were born with) is exchanged for the new life of Christ, His Holy Spirit!
Think about that!

God the Father’s best gift – is the desire for sins forgiven; the hunger for experiencing God the Son as Redeemer, Savior; and being thirsty for the indwelling of God the Holy Spirit.  Think about that!

God the Father has given God the Son to live within all who ask, seek, and knock for God the Holy Spirit.  Think about that!

The living Lord God will never give us a gift which would bite, sting, or poison us.
This God of the Bible will always be ready to give Himself (His Son’s life has already been given for our redemption).
This God will give anyone His Holy Spirit who turns to Him through faith in His Son.
Think about that!

We are to ask, seek and knock to be given God’s best gift…Himself! Think about that!
