Jesus said, in teaching His disciples to pray,
(NASB) Luke 11:4 “And forgive us our sins,
For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.”

Before I will be able to truthfully pray as Jesus said, I will have to forgive each person who I think has sinned against me.

Who do you need to forgive?  Did you notice that Jesus did not stipulate that the person or situation would have to be changed before you forgive!
The question is still…who do you need to forgive?

It would seem that to forgive others is to be continuous…for you and I need God’s forgiveness.  As we mature in our faith of Jesus being our Savior, we begin to see more and more of our sins and our need of God’s forgiveness.
The question is still…who do you need to forgive?

KJV Luke 11:4 states: “And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.”

Who is indebted to you?  Who “owes” you and you need to forgive that debt?
Just so, we are indebted to God, He has the right to receive payment for our debts against Him.  Our debts against God are our sins.  All sin needs to be paid for by the one who sins…for all have done wrong, all have sinned against God.  (Romans 3:23)
Thank the Lord God of the Bible; He has paid the ultimate sacrifice needed for your sins to be forgiven.

Jesus has paid what you owed so you are freed from the debt of your sin.

What payment for sin does the holy God of the Bible require?  It is a blood sacrifice, a sacrifice which is pure and holy, without blemish.  Only One Person has lived a perfect, sinless life and that Person is Jesus Christ.  He has become the Lamb of God Who has taken away the sins of the world.   (John 1:29)  It is only through faith in what Christ Jesus has done on the cross which will be accepted by God the Father for your sins and mine.

Forgive…as God has forgiven you…Who do you need to forgive?
