Jesus gave explicit instructions to at least 35 pairs of His followers and in those instructions He told them what they were not to do.
(NASB) Luke 10:4 “Carry no money belt, no bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way.”

What have you allowed to hinder your obedience?
What are you not willing to let go of or leave behind?
What emotional baggage are you dragging around?
Where are you not willing to go, either physically or spiritually in your walk with the LORD?
Upon what are you dependent?

These “whats” detain, derail or deter where we are going (if we are being sent by the Lord to where He wants us to go).

As one person has said about this devotional…“I think the idea is full quick obedience to the LORD’S command and also focusing on Him and trusting Him to provide when He tells you to do something.”

The “whats” and “wheres” of following Christ is to be obedient to His instructions.

Obedience involves saying “no” to the “whats” of our desires.

Obedience is to do what God calls us to the “wheres” He is sending us.

The what of obedience is going (or staying) and being where God desires.
