How had Jesus responded to a desperate father who had shouted from among a large Jewish crowd, begging Jesus to deliver his only son from an evil spirit?  (Luke 9:37-40)

(NASB) Luke 9:41 “…‘You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and put up with you?…”

Jesus was speaking to a crowed of people who claimed God as their God…yet He pointed a finger at their unbelief in the reality of God in their midst.  He is Immanuel (God with us).  Yet, many in that crowd did not believe…they only wanted His power to give them relief from the present hurts.

As a follower of Christ, what is a fact, a reality about God in your life today, this moment?  He is still Immanuel…He is still with all of those who have placed their faith in Him.

As a follower of Christ, how do you respond to Jesus, this moment?  Is it with thanksgiving for being with you in your circumstances…whether they are comfortable or not…right at this moment?

What can you know about Immanuel this moment?  He knows you!  He is with, and in, His followers.  Where is your focus?  Is it all about you or is it all about Him?
Jesus said “how long shall I be with you and put up with you?…”  (Luke 9:41b)

Where is God at work in your life, where is He conforming you to His desire?
Have you asked the living God of the Bible, in the name of Jesus, to be changed?

Change is difficult, it demands honesty and commitment and sacrificing “me”.

Doing God’s will God’s way means letting go of “my” wants, “my” desires, “my” way.
Proof of yielding to God will mean trusting Him (leaning your full weight on Him).

People, even followers of Christ, will pervert God’s holy will when not relying fully on Him.

  Immanuel…This Moment!

Are you relying on Him by putting your full weight on His power and upon Himself (that’s trust!)?
