In the past weeks, horrific crimes of terror have happened.  Bombs planted along a crowded finish line of the Boston Marathon, a five year old girl repeatedly raped by a man for two days in India without the police actively seeking the little girl.  Brutality is vicious behavior which impacts peoples’ lives and causes severe trauma and even death.

At times like these, some people will ask where is God?  Scripture never promises us that we will never have sorrows of this magnitude.  But God’s word does promise us that He will never leave us nor forsake His followers.  The Lord is our Helper in the dark days.

As followers of Christ, in what do we hope in the face of such sinful actions, pre-meditated to bring about pain, suffering and death?

We have a hope which is based on our living Lord Jesus Christ.  He is coming again.

We should never, ever forget that fact!

In the world we do have turmoil, tribulation, and terror.  But believer’s have faith in our Lord Jesus Who is preparing a place for each and every one of God’s children.
(NASB) John 14:1-3 “DO NOT let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
2 ‘In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
3 ‘If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

Putting the Lord Jesus first in our day:  (NASB) Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

To “see” the kingdom of God is to see the resplendent and majestic Lord Jesus Christ Who is King over all kings, potentates and presidents.

John was exiled on the island of Patmos.  He was given a vision of (the Lord Jesus Christ):
(NASB) Revelation 1:13-18 “…I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and girded across His chest with a golden sash.
14 His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and his eyes were like a flame of fire.
15 His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.
16 In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man.  And He placed His right hand on me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,
18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.”

What are we to be doing until Jesus comes again?
(NASB) Matthew 24:14 “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”
