Jesus placed a condition for those who were gathered to hear Him teach,

(NASB) Luke 6:27 “I say to you who hear…”

How do you choose to live this day?  It is your choice and mine whether we listen to Jesus and His words or ignore and reject them.  That is our choice, each day.

We ignore His words when we do not read the Holy Bible.  When we hear His words through a sermon or lecture or even through a song and do not put them into action we are rejecting His truths.
Jesus was talking to His followers that day and He is still talking to those who desire to follow Him “I say to you who hear…”

‘Help me, LORD, to hear Your words, whether they are words to warn me or to encourage me.  Your words require an action on my part, so…
(NIV) Psalm 25:4-5 “Show me your ways, O LORD,
Teach me your paths;
5guide me in your truth and teach me,
For you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.”  In the name of Jesus, Amen’

How are you choosing to live in this day?  Are you listening to Jesus, are you hearing what He wants for you to understand and to know?

Why do you want to follow Jesus?  Is it because He loves you?

(NASB) Song of Songs 6:3 [Sometimes called the Song of Solomon]
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine…”

Christ Jesus is the Beloved.  Being a follower of Christ is to belong to Him and He belongs to you!
Why is this true?  Well, for one thing, God says so!  And because Jesus Christ’s love for you took Him to the altar of sacrifice…the cross.

How can you not respond to His great love?

How do you respond to Jesus’ conditional words?

“I say to you who hear…”

In the days to come, this devotional will consider some of those things which Jesus said we are to do…and it is not always easy and perhaps it is something we will not want to do…Jesus did not mince words and He did not give us an ‘out’…“I say to you who hear…”
