Jesus did not let up; He kept giving the “Blessed are you” promises with the “Woe to you” warnings.
(NASB) Luke 6:21 “…Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”
(NASB) Luke 6:25 “…Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.”

For what reason do you cry?  Do you weep for your sins against God?  Do you weep for your country?  Do you weep for those who are without faith in the living God of the Bible?
For what do you weep?  Jesus said, “…Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”

For what reason do you laugh?  Do you laugh because you have “come out on top” in your job, in an election, perhaps because you are better off than another?

Jesus warned of laughing now for there will come a time when you will mourn and weep.  Jesus gave several parables which foretold of those without faith in Him who would be thrown into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

(Matthew 8:12; 13:42, 50)
“…Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep.”

We need to think long and deeply…

For what do I weep?

For what do I laugh?
