Jesus gave contrasting “Blessed are you when” with “Woe to you”.
(NASB) Luke 6:21 “Blessed are you who hunger now, for you shall be satisfied…”
(NASB) Luke 6:25 “Woe to you who are well-fed now, for you shall be hungry.”

Upon what do you “feed”?  What keeps you satisfied with life?  If we are self-satisfied today, tomorrow we will be hungry for what God offers in eternity.
If you are dissatisfied today with the meager offerings of the world around you, take heart, tomorrow in eternity you will be satisfied with God Himself.

Consider the “Woe to you” which Jesus warns to anyone who reads His word…if you are well-fed and content with life without God; you will be hungry for Him in eternity.  How we need to hunger and thirst for God Himself…today!

(NASB) Psalm 42:1-2 “AS THE deer pants for the water brooks,
So my soul pants for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God;
When shall I come and appear before God?”

Hungry or Well-fed?
