God’s power is beyond my comprehension.  I can give intellectual consent to His power…but to fully understand it…no, I cannot.  Can you?

One aspect of God’s pure power…is the power of His work.

  Some people at the time of Jesus’ life on earth had experience of His power.
(NASB) Luke 6:19 “And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.”

What are a few things we can know from this verse?
1-    People recognized that power radiated from Jesus
2-    People believed that by touching Jesus, they would be healed.
3-    People were healed of physical illnesses and delivered from unclean spirits.
4-    People who were Jews (from Judea and Jerusalem) and Gentiles (from Tyre and Sidon) were present in that crowd and all who touched Him were healed.
5-    People pressed forward to get to Jesus…desperate, determined, pushy people who were intent on one goal…to touch Jesus.

Are you such a person?  Do you need to touch Jesus by pressing forward with persistence?  Do you believe that Jesus’ power will heal you?  (Physical healing is important but the spiritual healing we need is all important…and only Jesus can heal us from the disease of sin.)

To reach out with desire, to reach out with desperation and determination…that is what those people were doing.

How often do you determine to know Jesus, and the power of His resurrection in your life?  Those people did not have a clue that Jesus would die for them in the future.  They only knew that Jesus had the power to heal them that day.

You can know, without a doubt, that Jesus died…for you…in your place on a cross.  The works of Jesus was an illustration of what He would do in power after His death and resurrection.

  In what area do you need the power of Jesus?

Physical healing…Jesus may give you healing through medicines and doctors.

Relationships which need healing…family and friends are important to our well being, to whom do you need to reach out?

Mental healing…what do you think about the most?  Where do you need Jesus to give you release from thoughts which are haunting and hurtful and those which are not from God?

Emotional healing…may be tied to physical needs; scars from the past may keep you from hope; and then there is the release which can come through forgiving others.

Social healing…what is separating you from others?

***Spiritual healing…this is one area in which every one of us needs Jesus’ power!  For we cannot heal ourselves; others cannot heal us in this area; no other ‘gods’ can bring spiritual healing to us…only Jesus and His power.
