Jesus declared that He had fulfilled Scripture as He read from the prophet Isaiah in the synagogue of His hometown of Nazareth.

  What is the “acceptable year of the LORD”?
Again the Lord God gives His commendation to His Messiah in:
(NASB) Isaiah 49:8a “…In a favorable time I have answered You,
And in a day of salvation I have helped You;
And I will keep You and give You for a covenant of the people,…”

In God’s timing – Messiah came to bring salvation and Jesus was that Messiah!

Today, this day, is the day for anyone who chooses to yield to God and His ways, accepting Jesus as Savior…this is the favorable time for anyone to be redeemed, saved, born again, in a new beginning of life to follow Jesus.

To follow Jesus is to yield to God…to turn from preconceived ideas about what it is to be a Christian.  What does God say?  It is there, in the Holy Bible where we find God’s truth.
We are not to ‘pick and choose’ what pleases us…we are to accept God’s full counsel.

(NASB) 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;”

Do you need to be taught by God?  So do I!
Do you need reproof?  So do I!
Do you need correction?  So do I!

This is the favorable year of the LORD to be trained in righteousness…to believe what God says (He means…all of His words).

Jesus gave this proclamation then, in that synagogue, and His proclamation is still active today…for you!

In what area(s) do you need God’s teaching, God’s reproof, God’s correction, God’s training in righteousness?  What area(s) does salvation need to become active in your life?

Jesus was sent by God to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.

How are you responding to such a great salvation?
